Location
The site is set high in the beautiful Chiltern Hills about four kilometres (2.5 miles) from Chesham. This natural site is located in unspoilt countryside close to the village of Ashridge. Map reference 165 - 934050.


Camping
The 14 acre site is a well balanced mixture of field and woodland, ideal for all forms of camping. Wood for fires is available and water taps are easily accessible to all sites. Modern toilet facilities that include hot showers are provided. Full provision is made for those with special needs.


Walking & hiking
The area surrounding Braid Wood is criss-crossed by a large number of public footpaths and bridal ways. Varying routes can be selected that meet the abilities of all ages.


Large scale events
The camp site can more than adequately cater for large scale events. The five acre main field uniquely provides sufficient space for both camping and activities in one large area.


Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme
Braid Wood is an ideal venue for D of E award scheme training or as a base for bronze or silver expedition assessment. The main building provides an all season base for gold award planning and training


Backwoods camping
The nine acre wood is ideal for bivouacking, backwoods camping and cooking.


Fires

Open Fires are permitted in the woodland area but restricted to alter fires (not provided) on the main camping field
